The Phillies have added outfielder T.J. Bohn, claiming him off waivers from the Atlanta Braves. Phillies GM Pat Gillick originally drafted Bohn in the 30th round of the 2002 draft while he was the GM of the Seattle Mariners.
Although he didn’t see any action this season, Bohn does have has minimal MLB experience. In 2006 he played eighteen games for the Mariners where he hit .142 with one home run and two RBI’s. This season, Bohn hit .241 with 1 home run and 14 RBI’s in 46 games for Triple A Richmond.
With six games left, it’s doubtful he’ll see any action for the Phils unless it’s as a late inning defensive replacement or pinch runner.
Bohn will not be eligible to make the post-season roster. To make room for Bohn on the 40-man roster, the Phillies placed pitcher Yoel Hernandez on the 60-day disabled list.
