Who is playing? The Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) v. the New York Giants (1-2).
When will this game take place? Sunday, September 30th, 2007 at 8:15 (NBC).
Where will this game be played? Giants Stadium, New Jersey.
Why are they playing this game? Because this is America.

Any notable injuries I should know about before I bet my kids college tuition? As of right now it looks as though the Eagles will definitely be without TE LJ Smith (groin). As for the rest of the players in question, we won’t know till gameday, but it looks as though FS Brian Dawkins (neck) and T William Thomas (knee) are a go, and CB Lito Sheppard (knee) is a no. As for the Giants, their star receiver Plaxico Burress (ankle sprain) will be in uniform and will play “no question”. On the other hand, starting running back (for how long?) Brandon Jacobs (knee) will still be out of uniform and forced to watch new comer Derrick Ward run away with his job.
What’s the spread? – 2.5 Eagles
Any history between the two teams? Yes. They hate each other… like identical twins do when the “cool attractive” twin is finally realized, leaving the “other twin” to sit and think about ways to bring the other one down a notch (or kill them). The Eagles have won the teams last two meetings, and six of the last nine.
How do they match up on paper?
Team Defensive points per game:
Eagles 13th (19)
Giants 30th (32)
Team Defensive yards per game:
Eagles 18th (328)
Giants 25th (368)
Team Offensive points per game:
Eagles 8th (27)
Giants 12th (24)
Team Offensive yards per game:
Eagles 7th (386)
Giants 10th (359)
Who will win? Beats the hell out of me. I’m horrible at picking games, that’s why I type my entries from the free computer at the laundry mat and live in the back of a 1990 Dodge mini-van with my cousin Daryl. But here’s what my gut says… the Giants will lose and lose hard.
I don’t know much, but I do know that the Giants are a horrible team with a horrible coach; how they beat the Redskins last week is anybody’s guess. The Eagles are a good team with a horrible coach, how they lost to the Favre’s and the Portis’s is… well we know why they lost.
The Eagles have better personnel at every single position except for TE – Jeremy Shockey… and unless Jeremy Shockey’s taking snaps and playing safety, the Giants are done! On defense, look for the Eagles to keep the Giants running game in check, and force the other Manning to beat them through the air (as always this statement is null and void if Jimmy Johnson’s 3rd Down Defense is in full effect – i.e. hike, blitz, completion for a first, punch something in frustration). On offense, look for the Eagles to have another “are those stats serious?” type of days ala last week against the Lions.
Will you be keeping a running diary? The eight ball says “yes”… but only if the Phillies win (otherwise I will be sticking needles in my Carlos Beltran/David Wright voodoo dolls in an effort to cause season ending injuries).
Have you seen the new season of Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Yes. And it’s amazing.
Anything else I should know? Jeremiah Trotter wore the # 40 at Stephen F. Austin (he has yet to play this season).
