San Diego, CA (Sports Network) – The San Diego Padres have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with free agent second baseman Tadahito Iguchi.

Iguchi’s agent Rocky Hall informed MLB.com of the agreement. The second baseman batted .267 with nine home runs and 43 runs batted in over 135 games for the Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies last season.

In his brief three-year career, Iguchi has batted .276 as the starting second baseman in the Windy City before filling in for injured Chase Utley after a trade with the Phillies in the middle of last season.
