Phillies’ outfielder Pat Burrell is competing for the National League’s last All-Star roster spot. He is currently facing off with Mets‘ third baseman David Wright, Astros‘ outfielder Carlos Lee, Brewers‘ outfielder Corey Hart, former Phillie and current Giants’ outfielder Aaron Rowand.
Burrell is having a career year this season. He is currently seventh in the league in home runs with 21, first among outfielders. He is batting .279 on the year (a remarkable number for him) with 53 RBIs.
Go to MLB.com now to cast your vote for Burrell. It is imperative that he does not lose out to the likes of Wright. If we all ban together, we can get Burrell on the squad, which he absolutely deserves. Making the squad over Burrell were Ryan Ludwick of the St. Louis Cardinals and Nate McLouth of the Pirates. Yea, exactly.
