1) Dallas:  Record 1-0 (Win at Cleveland 28-10):  Last weeks rank: #3:  Impressive fundamental win over a supposedly better Browns team.  Big test next week vs. the Birds should really help to define the type of competition in the division.  The Cowboys usually win the early ones against the Birds.  Unfortunately, the Birds usually beat them in the second half of the season.. when it really counts.

2) Pittsburgh:  Record 1-0 (Beat Houston 38-17)  Last weeks rank:  #8:  Willie Parker is back and hasn’t missed a beat.  Rothlisberger has continued to improve, and Timlin might be the best coach in the NFL.  I still believe Houston is a good team, so I give them the edge here over Philly.

3) Philadelphia: Record 1-0 (Beat the Rams 38-3):  Last weeks rank:  #7:  The most impressive display from offense, defense, and special teams in week 1.  This team is much better then anyone thought.  DeSean Jackson is the real deal and completely opens up the offense.  But the real story here as usual is the D.  Jackson, Holt, Bulger and Pace are still very talented, and they rendered each of them ineffective.

4) New Orleans:  Record 1-0 (Beat the Bucs 24-20):  Last weeks rank: #6:  Took a while to get warmed up, but the O exploded in the second half.  They need Mcallister to contribute if they really want to contend though.

5) New York Giants:  Record 1-0 (Beat the Skins 16-7) Ho hum, nothing new here.  The D looks like it hasn’t missed a beat despite losing so many players to injury and retirement.  I can’t believe Coughlin actually turned this mess around.

6) Green Bay:  Record: 1 -0  (Beat the Vikings 24-19) Last weeks rank:  #9:  People will probably over emphasize Rodgers performance, but he looks like something to build with for sure.  He played a very tough D and backed up his talk, so you gotta like that.

7) Tennessee:  Record 1-0 (Beat the Jags 17-10)  Last weeks rank:  #14:  They always play the Jags tough, no surprise here.  Now Young’s out for 4 weeks and they might actually improve without him.

8) Jacksonville: record: 0-1 (Lost to Tennessee 17-10):  Last weeks rank #2:  Run the damn ball Del Rio!  It ‘aint that hard to figure out.

9) Buffalo:  Record 1-0 (Beat the Seahawks 34-10)  Last weeks rank:  #15:  Not so much of a shocker here.  Seattle sucks.  Still an overly impressive and unexpected win from this up and coming team.  I really didn’t think they’d be close to this level coming into last year.

10) Indianapolis:  Record 0-1 (Lost to Bears 29-13 ):  Last weeks rank: #5:  Something told me they weren’t going to be so hot this year… I just didn’t think they’d be this cold.  Should be interesting to see how they respond.

11) San Diego: record: 0-1 (Lost to Carolina 26-24):  Last weeks rank: #1: Oops, so much for the Chargers.  Somehow, I completely forgot that Norv Turner coached this team.  Why does he have job?  Awful debut..

12) Denver:  Record: 1-0 : (Beat the Raiders 41-14)  Last weeks rank:  #18:  Wow, so Cutler is not Jake the Snake after all?  Of course, this was against Oakland.  Still, you can’t be less then impressed with that total domination.

13) Chicago:  Record 1-0 (Beat the Colts 29-13)  Last weeks rank:  #27:  I’d like to apologize to Brian Urlacher.  Man he looked pissed even after the Game.  Who cares who the QB is… this D is sickening, and Matt Forte is the answer at RB.

14):   New York Jets:  Record 1-0 (Beat the Dolphins 20-14) Last weeks rank:  #19:  The margin of victory was larger then the score shows.  Brett is back throwing ducks for TD’s, but he obviously has a deal with the Devil.  Impressed.

15) New England:  Record 1-0 (Win over K.C. 17-10):  Last weeks rank: #4:  Karma’s a bitch ‘aint it Belichek?  So long Pats, no recovering from this one.  For all those who picked up Matt Cassell on Sunday night… HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!

16) Arizona:  Record 1-0 (Beat the Niners 23-13)  Last weeks rank:  #20:  They did what they’re supposed to do!  Win.  Solid win over a weak opponent.  Keep your eyes on this team.

17) Minnesota:  Record 0-1 (Lost to the Packers)  Last weeks rank: #10:  Petterson got his 100 yards… but people (read: fantasy owners) surely expected more than that.  They shouldn’t have, Green Bay has a tough D, and only if and until Tavaris Jackson becomes  a good QB, then D’s are just gonna swarm him.

18) Tampa Bay:  Record 0-1 (Lost to Saints 20-24)  Last weeks rank:  #23:  Much more impressive then I imagined.  Still they lost.

19) Houston:  Record  0-1 (Lost to the Steelers 17-38):  Last wees rank #11:  Horrible opener for this years trendy pick.  They are far from where they need to be, but are young and I expect them to improve as the season goes along

20) Miami:  Record 0-1 (Lost to NY Jets 14-20)  Last weeks rank #16:  They played tough… just like last year.  There just seems like there is no cohesion from top to bottom.

21) Cleveland: Record 0-1 (Lost to Dallas 10-28) Last weeks rank: #13:  Poor start to the season, but tough opening opponent in Dallas.  I’ll cut them some slack, but they look like they’ve regressed since last year.

22) Atlanta:  Record 1-0  (Beat the Lions 34-21)  Last weeks rank:  #32:  Very impressive.  Michael Turner is the real deal, and Matt Ryan don’t look so bad neither.

23) Carolina:  Record 1-0  (Beat the Chargers 26-24)  Last weeks rank:  #31:  Another huge shocker and eliminated about 50% of all Suicide pools.  I just don’t trust this team, but can’t start off more impressively then this.

24) Baltimore:  Record 1-0 (Beat Cincy 17-10)  Joe Flacco looked good, as did Ray Rice.  Harbaugh has the team playing steady and calm… it’ll work against teams like Cincy, and he’s obviously got the team on a path to redemption.

25) St. Louis:  Record 0-1 (Lost to the Birds 38-3)  Last weeks rank:  #17:  Absolutely pathetic performance.  This team has too many weapons on offense to be held to just 3 points, but they have serious problems on D, such as no secondary whatsoever.

26) Cincinnati:  Record 0-1 (Lost to the Ravens 10-17)  Last weeks rank:  #21:  How far this team has fallen.  You may as well get rid of the good guys too Marvin… this team is in serious trouble, and so is your job.

27) Washington:  Record 0-1 (Lost to the Giants 7-16)  Last weeks rank:  #28:  Yeah, that’s about what I thought they’d do.  I suspect it will get worse from here on out.

28) Seattle:  Record 0-1 (Lost to the Bills 10-34)  Last weeks rank:  #22:  Wow… I thought they would suck, but I never imagined it would be this bad.  LOL!

29) Oakland:  Record 0-1(Lost to Denver 14-41)  Last weeks rank:  #24:  Just plain old ugly.  I was hoping to see a little more from them… I still think they can get things in the right direction.  I think Russell and McFadden are great talents and I still think Kifin will get this team on the right track by the end of the season.

30) Detroit:  Record 0-1  (Lost to Atlanta?!!? 21-34)  Last weeks rank:  #25:  I obviously ranked this team way too high this year.  Pathetic… I really need to see those pics Matt Millen has.

31) Kansas City:  Record 0-1 (Lost to the Pats 10-17)  Last weeks rank:  #29:  Had a big chance to shock the world, and nearly ended every suicide after just one week.

32) San Francisco:  Record 1-0 (Lost to Cards 13-23)  Last weeks rank:  #30:  Looks like JT O’Sullivan isn’t the answer either Nolan.
