On the set of the NFL Network’s postgame show after the Eagles Thanksgiving victory over the Arizona Cardinals, former Cowboy Deion Sanders showed that he is still an idiot.

Many fans stayed after the game and chanted for Donovan McNabb as he joined the postgame cast, which apparently annoyed Neon Deion.

“Can I tell them something for you?” he said. “First of all, I would like to tell all these idiotic fans to shut-up. Don’t get on his bandwagon now. You’re the same guys who booed him on his first incompletion.”

Post game host Rich Eisen then asked Sanders what he really thought of Philly fans.

“I can’t stand them. I really can’t. It’s not because I was a former Cowboy because I didn’t give a darn about any fans. They all hated me because I performed well,” Sanders said. “But they way they treated this man from Day One, it’s not justifiable. They will not treat any other quarterback in the NFL, like we said, Peyton Manning don’t get treated like that. Tom Brady. And I know you [McNabb] can’t say it, but I would really like on your behalf, you can take this…God bless you guys. … “

First off, Eagles fans did not dislike Sanders because he played well. They disliked him for the same reason fans all over the country dislike guys like Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, and Chad Ocho-Cinco Johnson, because they’re idiots who run their mouths and act like jerks, instead of just playing football. For starters, Sanders was a Cowboy, so the Eagles’ fans would have had at least some dislike for him based on allegiance principal.

More importantly, however, Sanders was a showoff jerk; he was an attention hog; he loved to goad the fans and opposing players with ridiculous dances and taunts.

Regarding the idea that now everyone in Philly loves McNabb because he had an amazing game on Thursday, that’s just not true. First off, not everyone dislikes McNabb; not everyone was calling for his head. Second, not everyone likes McNabb now. There were plenty of people who still think he should be traded.

What Sanders did, and what most of the national media and players so often do, is lump the entire fanbase in with the minority few morons that continually give us Philly fans our bad name. It is entirely likely that those fans chanting McNabb’s name during the post game interview are legitimate Donovan fans. And even if they were fans jumping on the bandwagon, why do people act like there are only bandwagon fans in Philly? What do you think the Red Sox Nation is all about? There was no friggin nation before 2004. I’ve never seen such a ridiculous case of bandwagon climbing. But that is normal; it happens in every city. When teams are successful, they get more fans, it’s the simple nature of sports. Fans are more inclined to spend the considerable money it takes to go to a game when they think there is a good chance their team will win.

Most fans didn’t throw the batteries or the snowballs at Santa; most fans didn’t cheer when Michael Irvin, even though that was misconstrued and blown out of proportion; most fans were not with fellow idiot Angelo Cataldi in New York when he booed the selection of McNabb; and most of the fans celebrating the Phillies World Series victory were destructive. And yet, we continue to garner a reputation as the worst fans in sports because our select minority are at times worse than in other cities.

So Neon Deion, I say you shut-up, you idiotic moron ex-player.
