The Phillies took advantage of another troublesome outing by Oliver Perez, only to see themselves behind after a disastrous sixth inning.  Like the Phillies have done all season, late inning heroics fueled an extra inning win, off a foe the Phillies are used to beating; the Mets’ bullpen.  Reliever Sean Green’s bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning handed the Phillies the victory as they topped the Mets 6-5.

The Good:
Mets Phillies Baseball- Raul Ibanez (a name being seen a lot this season), finished 2 for 4 with two RBI’s.  His solo home run in the sixth inning (8th of the year), off Pedro Feliciano tied the game at five.  He also made two stellar late inning catches, preventing the Mets from adding more runs.

- Pedro Feliz went two for five.  Both of his hits didn’t pass third base.  His Baltimore Chop single to lead off the tenth inning, put him in position to be the eventual winning run.  Feliz also shined defensively.  In the top of the 10th with one out and runers at the corners, Carlos Beltran hit a rocket to third.  Feliz fielded it cleanly, fired the ball to Eric Brunlett, and on to Ryan Howard, completing the inning-ending 5-4-3 double play.

- While Jayson Werth only went 1 for 4 with an RBI offensively, it was his defense that led the Phillies to victory.  With two outs in the top of the eighth, Carlos Beltran singled to right field.  Catcher Omir Santos tried to score from second, only to be cut down by a perfect throw from Werth, keeping the score tied at five.

- Shane Victorino finished 2 for 5.  Both of his hits were for extra bases (a double and a triple).  He picked up the game-winning RBI in the tenth inning when walked by Green.

- The bullpen continued to stay hot.  After Moyer fell apart in the six inning, and Scott Eyre loaded the bases, Clay Condrey, Ryan Madson, Brad Lidge, and Jack Taschner combine on four-and-a-third innings of shutout baseball.

The Bad:
- Moyer was cruising until the sixth.  Actually until almost the end of the sixth.  With two outs, and no one on base in the sixth, Moyer gave up back-to-back home runs to Danny Murphy and Ramon Castro, tying the game at four.  His day ended after the next batter, Alex Cora, had a pinch hit triple.  Cora came around to score on a Luis Castillo single.  Moyer’s final line:  5.2IP, 7H, 5ER, 4BB, 2K.

- Howard finished 1 for 5 with three strikeouts.

The Ugly:
- For the second consecutive outing, Eyre was unable to record an out.  Entering a tie game with two outs and a runner on third base, Eyre gave up a single, a walk, and a hit batter, before leaving the game with the bases loaded.  In Eyre’s last two outings he’s given up three hits, four runs, four walks, and a hit batter, without recording an out.

Joe Blanton will take the hill for this afternoon’s rubber game.  Blanton (0-2, 8.41) is still seeking his first win of the season.  Blanton got roughed up in his last start, allowing six runs in four-plus innings against the Nationals.  In his career he’s 1-0, with a 2.14 ERA (in three starts).  Facing Blanton will be John Maine.  Maine (1-2, 5.14), has had his own struggles this season, but is coming off his best outing of the year, when he allowed one run on one hit, over six innings against the Marlins.  In his career Maine has dominated the Phillies going 5-0 with a 2.54 ERA.
