The 76ers traded high energy forward Reggie Evans to the Toronto Raptors for sharp shooting guard/forward Jason Kapono.
“We are very excited to add one of the league’s most prolific three-point shooters in Jason Kapono,” General Manager Ed Stefanski said through a press release. “We feel that this move addresses our goal of improving our shooting from the perimeter.“I want to thank Reggie Evans for his contributions to the team for the past two seasons and we wish him only the best.”
Evans, who is owed $4.6 million this upcoming season and $5 million in 2010-2011, averaged 3.3 points in 14.4 minutes per game last season. He appeared in all of the team’s games last season but two.
Kapono, who will make $6.2 million this coming season and $6.6 the season after, is one of the league’s best three point shooters, a category that the Sixers are continually dead last in. He averaged 8.2 points in 22.9 minutes per game last season, and averaged 42.8 percent from beyond the arc.
